The mass hatching of Olive Ridleys, a rare species, has been forecast by the Forest and Environment Department on the month of MARCH OR APRIL at Rushikulya River mouth in the district of Ganjam. This can be seen during the said period.   The plan-cum-itinerary is given below for your information. The date of the forecast period may vary a little if there is any rain or cold climate.

Day-1: Arrival at hotel. Arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport and drive to Gopalpur. Overnight at Swosti Palm Resort. Guest may also arrive by rail to get down at Berhampur Railways Station. Day-2: Departure to the hatching site. 02 : 30 A.M. Drive from Gopalpur. 03 : 30 A.M. Arrival at the hatching site. 04 : 00 A.M. Arrival at base point. 04 : 20 A.M. At the hatching site by foot. 07 : 00 A.M. Back and drive for onward journey.
